Campaign Story
* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.
Goals for My Fundraiser:
Supporting my capstone project
*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***
The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.
What is ‘Mindful Nutrition & Fitness Expo’
An interactive expo where student-athletes participate in live nutrition demonstrations, fitness challenges, and mindfulness circles that emphasize listening and team consensus to promote emotional wellness and global peace.
Why I am pursuing this project (My why)
- I am a ‘Relationship Builder’ personality type person with strong ‘advocate’ business potential.
- I’m super passionate about being a nutrition and fitness coach for athletes, and I’m really good at focusing on mental health as an athletic coach. So, I’ve decided to start a project that combines sports nutrition and mental health coaching for student-athletes. I hope this work will not only help athletes find peace and emotional wellness, but also inspire me to become a counselor and a peacemaker, helping to resolve conflicts around the world..
My plan of action: Competitions and Activities
Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:
TSA – Technology Student Association offers a strong foundation in technical innovation and project coordination, which complements the student’s pathway and provides essential skills for project implementation.
FBLA – Future Business Leaders of America emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and business strategy, aligning well with the student’s advocacy-focused project and desired tasks of building consensus and demonstrating enthusiasm.
Competitions
This introductory competition fits as it leverages digital audio skills to create engaging content aligned with the expo’s theme, and it helps build foundational media and communication skills essential for promoting the Mindful Nutrition & Fitness Expo.
FBLA – Business Communication
This introductory competition builds essential business communication skills, helping the student learn how to effectively pitch ideas and manage stakeholder interactions—critical for launching and sustaining the expo.
This introductory competition is well-suited to develop technical and problem-solving skills needed for building digital tools such as a website or event management app that support the expo project.
This advanced competition allows the student to apply comprehensive business planning skills, directly aligning with the needs of the Mindful Nutrition & Fitness Expo to manage logistics, marketing, budgeting, and strategic growth.
Community Service:
Mindful Nutrition & Fitness Workshop
Why it fits: This community service activity ties directly into the expo’s theme by promoting nutrition and fitness awareness in the local community, specifically targeting residents in zip code 30087.
Implementation: Organize interactive sessions such as healthy cooking demonstrations, group fitness classes, nutrition seminars, and wellness check-ups in collaboration with local health professionals and community centers.
Skills Development: Event planning, community engagement, leadership, nutrition education
